This collection celebrates the process of individuation, of coming into ones own character or characters, and cultivating the aspects that make one unique. The pieces encourage androgyny and embrace complexity through asymmetry, layering and the mixing of unusual combinations of fabric. Details such as fringes, raw edges and unorthodox shapes add edge to the soft pliability of the garments.
The designs are grounded in an elemental palette, and liberated through loose cuts that allow for movement, for the space to explore oneself and break free from society’s expectations.
Spring Summer 2018
The collection gathers its inspiration from the strong, active, free spirited souls of this generation. It is equally an ode to compassion as it is to strength, seeking to represent the moving power of vulnerability. Vigour and determination are embodied by the use of military-inspired details, shapes, patterns and structure.
The placement of sturdy fabrics is juxtapose with sensitive, soft and airy fabrics such as gauze, adding a feminine touch, alluding to the courage of being open and tender. The palette is mixed, incorporating both bold and light colours in tribute to individuals that make an imprint through will, courage and empathy.
